Posts: 16. Dear Support, We've recently acquired some licenses of Dameware Mini Remote Control. We've first set Dameware's 'installation Option' inside the 'Default Host Properties' to:.
'Stop Service on Disconnect'. 'Remove Service On Disconnect'. 'Set Service Startup type to 'Manual' default is 'Automatic' If we try to open a Dameware connection to a host through RDM, we're getting an error message in Dameware saying that it's 'unable to install the Client Agent'. If we add the same host to Dameware's connection list, we're able to install the service each time we connect without a problem. It seems that when RDM invokes Dameware, something is blocking the service installation. I've already tested the latest RDM beta (9.9.4.0) and this issue still happens.
I'm currently using Dameware Mini Remote Control version 11.0.1.1237 with RDM 9.2.10.0 on a Windows 8.1 computer. Thanks in advanced, Rafael. Posts: 16. Hi David, Please find in attach the rdm file with the Dameware session. I'm able to reproduce this issue by doing these steps: 1.) Add a new connection to a host that never had Dameware service installed. 2.) Double click on the newly created connection - You'll see that Damware opens up and shows a popup windows saying 'closing connection' with a unc path to the default share (c$) of the host. 3.) Open the standalone version of Dameware MRC and add a connection to that same host.
4.) When it prompts you to installed the service, go to the installation options and select:. 'Stop Service on Disconnect'.
'Remove Service On Disconnect'. 'Set Service Startup type to 'Manual' default is 'Automatic' 5.) After the session is established, close it (Dameware will remove the service), and close Dameware MRC. 6.) Go back to RDM and click again on the session you've created in step 2. Dameware will open up and will ask you to installed the service, click ok and you'll get the error message saying 'Unable to install the client agent'. I hope this helps.
If you need more information please let me know. P.S:.
I'm not using the MRC mirror drivers. I'm using a Dameware MRC trial version.

It does the same thing as you, it doesn't work. It gives the error 'Unable to install the client agent'.
I have also tried it using the same command line as you did, and it still doesn't work for me. The command line created by RDM is the same as the one you used, so it should be fine on RDM's end. Are you sure that you uninstalled the service properly and started from scratch? Can you make sure you ran RDM as administrator? If possible, could you specify which error code it gives you during the 'Unable to install the client agent' error? Regards Hubert Mireault.
Posts: 16. Hi Hubert, Thanks for your feedback. This is a really strange issue! If I'm able to connect to all my hosts when I use the DMRC GUI, but when it comes to the command line strange things happen.
I've double checked that the service is being uninstalled properly, and I've been testing RDM with Dameware on new hosts and I've always get the same behavior. I've also tested RDM running as administrator and I'm still getting the same error 'Unable to install the Client agent'. The error code I'm getting is 'System Error:2'. I think I've uploaded a screenshot of the error on my first post.
Regards, Rafael.
